We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our Skill Program team. The Counsellor will work closely with program participants to assess their needs, set goals, and provide guidance and support to help them achieve success in their academic and career goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in counseling, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to identify participants' strengths, needs, and interests.
Collaborate with participants to set realistic and achievable goals.
Develop and implement strategies to help participants achieve their goals.
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to participants.
Offer guidance on academic and career planning, goal setting, and time management.
Help participants develop coping skills and strategies to overcome challenges.
Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive case files for each participant.
Communicate with program staff, employers, and other stakeholders as needed to support participants.
Identify and connect participants with community resources, services, and opportunities.
Develop relationships with local employers, education providers, and other organizations to access resources and opportunities.
Conduct regular evaluations to assess the effectiveness of program services.
