The Role: We are looking for a compassionate, committed, and values-driven Vice President – Operations to lead the execution of our programs across the country. The incumbent shall be the anchor for day-to-day operations, team coordination, and ensuring that every initiative runs smoothly and with purpose.
This role is ideal for someone who is motivated by “impact over income”, and high willingness to deploy the skills to serve communities and transform lives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Implementation & Oversight:
- Ensure timely and effective rollout of all key programs and campaigns across locations
- Work closely with grassroots teams to identify local needs, monitor progress, and adapt plans for meaningful outcomes
- Maintain the spirit and intent of each program, keeping the community at the center
2. Financial Management:
- Project plans accompanied by budgets to be preapproved and tracked to be in line with the planned outlay.
- Create and track financials to ensure project grants are released by the treasury & donors / sponsors on time and ahead of the expenses lines.
- Present periodic financial summaries to the Chairman / Board of Trustees, highlight deviations & remedial measure.
3. Team Leadership & Capacity Building:
- Provide supportive leadership to state-level and ground-level teams
- Encourage collaboration, empathy, and a sense of mission among all staff and volunteers
- Facilitate training and development for team members, especially youngprofessionals in social work.
4. Partnership & Community Engagement:
- Represent the Foundation in interactions with local authorities, CSR partners, government departments, and civil society groups
- Help build long-term relationships that foster trust, respect, and mutual goals
- Manage Brand salience.
5. Operational Excellence with a Human Touch:
- Set up simple, community-friendly systems to ensure smooth operations
- Promote transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in all activities
- Ensure funds and resources are used efficiently and responsibly, in line with donor and mission expectations
6. Monitoring & Learning:
- Lead regular impact reviews and storytelling that reflects real change on the ground
- Facilitate a learning culture where feedback from the field shapes better decisions
The Ideal Experience:
- A heart for service, and a head for strategy
- 10+ years of experience in development sector leadership or senior program roles in NGOs, CSR projects, or government-backed missions
- Understanding of rural realities, youth aspirations, women's empowerment, and sustainability issues
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Willingness to travel and spend time with field teams and beneficiaries
- Language skills in Hindi and English preferred
Education: A Master’s degree in Social Welfare / Equivalent is preferable, to build up on the competence required, as above.
