Role Purpose :- The GM will build and run the end-to-end Compliance Services business as a profit center—covering Labour law compliance, PF/ESIC, GST, Income Tax (TDS), FEMA
and FCRA. The role owns service delivery, client success, team building, governance/controls, revenue growth, and audit-ready execution through a structured Compliance Command Center model.
Key Responsibilities
1) Business Ownership (P&L)
Own revenue, gross margin, utilization, and profitability for the compliance services vertical.
Build annual plan: targets, pricing, packaging (retainers/projects), and growth strategy.
Identify and convert opportunities: corporate accounts, multi-location clients, and compliance outsourcing deals.
2) Service Delivery & Operations (Execution-Led)
Establish a robust operating model for recurring compliances:
o Calendars, SLAs, maker–checker controls, documentation packs,MIS.
Ensure zero-miss discipline on statutory timelines and evidence readiness.
Drive standardization of SOPs, checklists, templates, and compliance packs across services.
3) Client Success & Account Management
Serve as escalation owner for key clients; build long-term relationships with CFO/CHRO/GC.
Run monthly/quarterly review meetings: status, exceptions, risks, corrective actions.
Manage compliance health checks, onboarding, transitions, and expansions (cross-sell across PF/ESIC/GST/Tax/FEMA/FCRA).
4) Governance, Risk &; Quality
Maintain compliance governance framework:
o Risk register, exception logs, audit readiness scorecards,escalation matrix.
Lead notice/inspection handling support: document packs, coordination, response preparation, closure tracking.
Ensure data confidentiality and secure handling of statutory and employee data.
5) Team Building & People Leadership
Hire, train and manage a high-performing team (Managers/Executives) across service lines.
Set KPIs for team: TAT, accuracy, on-time closure, client satisfaction,retention.
Create a performance culture: reviews, coaching, skill upgrades, and capacity planning.
6) Process + Tech Enablement
Implement the Compliance Command Center approach (dashboard, trackers, repository discipline).
Coordinate with payroll/HRMS/ERP and client systems for smooth data flow and reconciliations.
Build MIS dashboards for leadership and clients (monthly compliance scorecards). Deliverables / Success Metrics (First 90–180 Days)
Set up service delivery governance: calendars, SOPs, maker–checker and MIS.
Stabilize existing clients with on-time compliance closure and structured evidence packs.
Build pipeline and close new corporate retainers.
Hire core delivery team and implement a scalable operating rhythm.
Required Qualifications &; Experience
8–15 years experience in compliance services / payroll statutory / labour law / tax compliance / consulting or outsourced compliance operations.
Hands-on knowledge in:
o Labour compliances, PF/ESIC, Shops & Establishment, CLRA etc. (multi-state exposure preferred)
o Working knowledge of GST and TDS compliance (execution + reconciliations)
o Exposure to FEMA/FCRA compliance coordination is a plus (not mandatory if the candidate can build capability)
Proven experience in managing teams, running operations with SLAs, andclient-facing role.
Strong understanding of compliance documentation, controls, audits, and governance.
