Job Title: Facilities Management Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Specialist to join our team. This position is crucial to the smooth functioning of facilities and will play a vital role in supporting our engineering and operational needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background in building infrastructure systems, exceptional communication skills, and a consultative approach to business problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Center/Lab/Shield Room Environment management:
- Monitor and supervise cooling systems in IT data centers to maintain optimal operating conditions.
- Liaise with IT and facilities teams for rapid response to cooling-related incidents.
- Technical Shield Room & Lab Management:
- Manage the setup, maintenance, and environmental control of technical shield rooms and labs.
- Ensure lab safety, compliance, and efficient utilization of physical space and resources.
Electrical Panel & UPS Operations:
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of electrical panels, distribution boards, and UPS systems.
- Ensure continuous power supply for critical operations and coordinate timely maintenance.
Civil Work & Office Renovations:
- Coordinate civil maintenance, office renovations, and modifications as required.
- Liaise with contractors, handle vendor negotiations, and supervise on-site execution.
Communication & Leadership Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with the leadership team, providing concise updates and recommendations.
- Independently interact, coordinate, and align facility operations with organizational goals.
Independent Analysis & Problem Solving:
- Independently analyze operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrate initiative in handling complex challenges without direct supervision.
HVAC & Chillers:
- Oversee day-to-day operational management of HVAC systems and chillers.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and troubleshooting with vendors/contractors.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree & 10+ years equivalent experience in Facility Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing HVAC, chillers, shielded rooms, labs, and IT data center environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical panels, UPS systems, and emergency power solutions.
- Solid understanding of civil works and experience overseeing renovations or modifications of office spaces.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong independent problem-solving abilities; able to analyze issues and drive solutions autonomously.
- Experience acting as a consultant and advisor within business operations.
- Strong project management, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Facility Management or similar discipline.
- Prior experience in a technology-driven or laboratory environment.
