Job Title: Service Engineer – Biomedical Equipment (Ophthalmology)

Reporting to: Service Manager / Technical Head
Experience: 0–3 years (Freshers with relevant technical background may apply)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical equipment at customer sites. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electronics, optics, and mechanical systems, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and commission ophthalmic equipment at hospitals, clinics, and eye centers.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of instruments under warranty and service contracts.
Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure quick turnaround to minimize equipment downtime.
Provide on-site and remote support to customers.
Ensure accurate service documentation, reporting, and feedback.
Maintain spare parts inventory and tools.
Train end-users and technicians on proper use and care of equipment.
Collaborate with the sales and product teams for demos and customer support.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
Strong technical understanding of biomedical devices, especially in ophthalmology (fundus cameras, OCT, phaco machines, slit lamps, etc.)
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel extensively to customer sites.
Self-motivated and willing to learn.
Basic knowledge of MS Office and service documentation practices.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
Prior experience with ophthalmic equipment brands like Zeiss, Topcon, Haag-Streit, Nidek, etc.
Familiarity with calibration procedures and regulatory documentation.
Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
