Job Description
Purchase Engineer - Looking for Bangalore or Karnataka candidates only
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for electrical, electronic, and mechanical components used in industrial automation projects.
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve optimal cost, quality, and lead time.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
- Planning & Inventory Management
- Coordinate with project and production teams for material planning based on BOM (Bill of Materials) and project timelines.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Monitor lead times and ensure on-time availability of critical items.
- Logistics & Coordination
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including customs clearance (if applicable), freight forwarding, and vendor delivery tracking.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Design, Projects, Production, QA) to ensure alignment on delivery schedules.
- Vendor Management & Quality
- Conduct vendor audits and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to resolve supplier quality issues.
- Develop alternate sources for critical items to minimize risk.
- Process Improvement
- Implement best practices in supply chain operations to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
